A lesson can be drawn from this.
After making a reservation at a four-star hotel in Bangkok, a woman was dismayed to see negative reviews.
Jocelyn the stomper now wants to cancel the reservation but hesitates due to the 34% cancellation cost.
On May 9 she made a reservation at the Arnoma Grand Bangkok. “We saw the price was good and went ahead,” the Stomper recalled.
The deluxe accommodation with breakfast cost roughly $100 per night, and we reserved it. We continued our investigation after receiving paid and found nightmares.
The following complaints were discovered in the hotel’s most recent negative web reviews:
Soiled, filthy sheets for the bed.
Bathtub water is yellow.
Water from the basin is cloudy.
Evil egg.
Cockroaches.
The cup has stains.
I couldn’t change the air conditioning.
The air in the room smells moldy.
Unfriendly employees.
We tried to get a refund, but the hotel is really rigorous about it. The Stomper stated, “Based on our three-night reservation, we will be charged a 34% penalty if we cancel before the arrival date in June.
The cancellation fee is $100.44 and the room cost $295.40 to her. She will therefore receive a partial refund of $194.96.Initially, we used the Agoda app to obtain a waiver of the cancellation penalty. The hotel did not accept the waiver of the cancellation penalty within a day.
“We contacted the hotel and Agoda. The hotel personnel did not behave very nicely. ‘Didn’t you read the terms,’ she questioned. A waiver of the cancellation fee is not permitted.
The hotel would only consider Agoda to negotiate a waiver of the cancellation fee once we cancel our full booking, according to what Agoda later informed us. The hotel ultimately refused to forgive the cancellation penalties, according to Agoda, the Stomper reported.
“A vacation should be pleasurable and relaxing. We will have to give up the $100 after conducting the investigation because of recent hotel reviews.
“I’m hoping that by sharing our story with the public, they may be able to learn the same lesson we did. Prior to booking, do further study.
