Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt declared that the city is currently being marketed as the appropriate location for the regional headquarters of multinational corporations, highlighting the economic potential and prospects the city is capable of providing.
Speaking at the “Bangkok as Regional Headquarters Symposium” at the Bangkok Art and Culture Center, Chadchart said that this was the first occasion that municipal officials had invited investors to discuss the development of regional headquarters in Bangkok.
He emphasized the number of talented workers looking for new job possibilities, which makes Bangkok a convenient labor hub for various industrialized countries, including Japan. The conference, co-hosted by the BOI and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO Bangkok), offers Japanese businessmen the chance to examine business prospects and obstacles while outlining the strategies the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has adopted to draw in foreign businesses.
In addition to addressing problems like squalor and traffic congestion, Chadchart emphasized that Bangkok’s primary goals should be luring talent and improving the workforce. By easing corporate operations and providing promotional benefits, the governor demonstrated the city’s willingness to encourage foreign investment.Asst Prof Kessara Thanyalakpark, a consultant to Chadchart, stated that Bangkok welcomed businesses of all sizes and had complied with the rules established by the Board of Investment (BOI) to guarantee effective operations for international businesses.
The city’s relatively low cost of living when compared to other major cities in the area, she continued, makes it even more alluring for overseas businesses to think about establishing their headquarters there. For the ease of international workers and investors, the Bangkok governor recently announced plans to create One Stop Service facilities.
