Extreme Heat Advisory: Thailand Faces Sweltering Temperatures

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has issued an extreme heat warning for several regions across Thailand from today until March 5, with temperatures expected to exceed 40°C in some areas. The forecast indicates varying levels of heat nationwide.

Weather Overview (Feb 27 – March 4)

A weakening high-pressure system over the northeast and South China Sea will reduce moisture from the east and southeast winds, leading to warmer conditions and minimal rainfall in northern Thailand. Mornings will remain cool with light fog, especially in the northern and northeastern provinces. In the south, weak eastern winds over the Gulf of Thailand, Andaman Sea, and southern region may cause occasional thunderstorms. Wave heights in the lower Gulf will be moderate, ranging from 1 to 2 metres, with waves exceeding 2 metres in stormy conditions.
