Starting April 1, Thai Airways will be reducing the checked baggage allowance for certain Economy Class tickets. The standard weight limit for some economy fare classes will drop from 25kg to 23kg, affecting both domestic and international flights.
This change applies to Economy Class tickets in specific fare classes: K, S, V (Standard), and W, L (Saver). The new baggage policy will affect tickets issued or reissued from April 1 onwards. However, not all tickets will be impacted. If your ticket falls into one of these categories, you will be subject to the new 23kg limit. Passengers with tickets in other economy fare categories such as T, Q, H, M, B, and Y will continue to enjoy a 30kg baggage allowance.
Additionally, passengers with G Class tickets may see a baggage allowance of either 25kg or 30kg, depending on the specific fare conditions. Premium economy, Royal Silk Class, and Royal First Class passengers will not be affected by this change and will retain their generous baggage allowances of 35kg, 40kg, and 50kg, respectively. However, passengers holding W-class tickets flying to Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam will not have any checked baggage allowance.
It’s important to note that this adjustment will only impact tickets purchased or reissued after April 1. If you booked your flight before this date and do not make changes to your itinerary, your existing baggage allowance will remain unchanged. Passengers are encouraged to verify their ticket conditions in advance to avoid any surprise baggage fees.
