Ten days before the incident at Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport where a woman lost part of her leg, a small kid had an escalator accident where his foot got caught underneath. Thankfully, the youngster recovered well after receiving 11 stitches.
Yesterday at Don Mueang Airport, a Thai woman lost her leg after collapsing on the escalator. The victim’s limb could be reattached, the doctor assured her and the press. The woman is still in shock despite this promising outcome. She apparently sobbed when she saw her news spread widely online.
Following the woman’s terrible fall, a number of Thai internet users and news organizations brought attention to previous instances of similar accidents to warn the public about the potential risks linked with escalators.Following the woman’s story, the Facebook post of a Thai guy who was killed by an escalator in 2019 went viral once more in Thailand. The man described how his shoe got tangled up under the escalator in his post.
He quickly decided to take off his shoe in order to protect himself from harm. The airport, the man continued, just offered an apology via text message and provided no other assistance. The incident in which a small boy’s shoe became wedged beneath the escalator at Don Mueang was also made public by Thai news agencies.
On June 22, the boy’s mother posted a video of the incident to her TikTok account. The boy’s right foot is seen in the footage getting hooked on the escalator’s right side.
The mother claims that her son was saved and was left with a significant foot wound. The doctor told the boy’s family that the boy was protected by the thick Crocs he was wearing. He might have hurt his toes if he had been wearing flip-flops.On the other side, several Thai TikTok users hypothesized that the accident might have been caused in part by Crocs. One internet user brought up the Hong Kong rail service’s ban on this style of footwear as a way to avoid such mishaps.
The boy’s mother revealed that after receiving 11 stitches, her son has since fully recovered. He can move around and run now exactly like he could before the tragedy.
