Bangkok red line commuter operates on a earlier schedule

The Red Line commuter train in Bangkok is operating more frequently than before and is now open every day as early as 5:00 AM. The most recent adjustments are intended to increase customer comfort, particularly for early morning travelers to Don Mueang Airport.

The Red Line commuter train in the capital has a revised service schedule with more frequent services and extended operation hours, according to Sutep Punthupeng, CEO of SRT Electrified Train (SRTET). A half-hour earlier than the previous opening time of 5:30 AM.

The new train schedule sees the line open for customers every day at 5:00 AM.During peak hours, such as from 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM and 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM, trains operating on the northern branch between Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal and Rangsit now run more often and with a shorter 10-minute headway. Outside of peak hours, there will be a 15-minute headway between trains.

Trains are running with a 20-minute headway throughout the day on the western line between Taling Chan and Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal, which is also undergoing similar improvements.According to the CEO of SRTET, these modifications are advantageous to passengers, particularly those who arrive at Don Mueang International Airport early in the morning.

Previously, the Red Line commuter service carried up to 25,000 people on Fridays and an average of 23,000–24,000 people daily. Based on the favorable feedback it received from its customer satisfaction survey, SRTET now plans to boost the ridership to 26,000 daily passengers.
