Bangkok-Vientiane train services to begin July 19

The State Railway of Thailand has announced the commencement of a new international train service linking Bangkok and Vientiane in Laos, scheduled to begin operations on July 19.

This new service extends the existing Bangkok-Nong Khai route. The train is set to depart from Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal Station (Bangkok Central) at 9:25 pm on July 19 and reach Vientiane at 9:05 am on July 20.

Upon reaching Vientiane, travelers will have access to public transportation services for commuting to downtown Vientiane, located approximately 7-9 kilometers away. Additionally, passengers can utilize the high-speed Laos-China railway at Vientiane Railway Station to journey to other provinces within Laos or to China.

The anticipated one-way ticket prices from Bangkok to Vientiane are expected to commence at around 300 baht for a third-class fan seat, with a travel duration of approximately 10 hours, as stated by the official.
