BMA Takes Action Against Abandoned Vehicles.

City Hall has initiated a crackdown on vehicles left abandoned along public roads, warning owners that they may face fines if the vehicles are not removed.

The operation began yesterday in Bang Khen district, with Deputy Governor Chakkapan Phewngam overseeing the efforts.

During the inspection, three abandoned vehicles were located—two in Soi Ram Intra 13 and one in Soi Lad Plakao 76 Yaek 1-13.

The owners of the two vehicles in Soi Ram Intra were notified and promptly relocated their cars. However, the vehicle on Soi Lad Plakao was towed after the owner did not respond to the warning.

Under the city’s orderliness law, owners of abandoned vehicles could incur a fine of 5,000 baht.

From January 1, 2020, to March 22 of this year, a total of 1,516 abandoned vehicles were identified on the streets of Bangkok, most of which have since been retrieved by their owners.

Ultimately, 117 vehicles remained unclaimed and were auctioned off.
