Bourse Introduces Three Major Flagship Projects

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has launched three flagship projects as part of its three-year strategic plan aimed at fostering the development of the capital market through fair and inclusive growth.

To ensure organic growth, SET President Asadej Kongsiri announced the introduction of the Jump+ project, the Bond Connect platform, and the financial learning sphere.

The Jump+ initiative is designed to support the growth of listed companies by providing essential tools, resources, and opportunities to enhance their competitiveness and sustainability.

The SET plans to create a new index to track the performance of successful Jump+ companies and will collaborate with the Investment Analysts Association to produce analysis reports.

“As trust and confidence improve through this project, the SET will strengthen market integrity by utilizing artificial intelligence for enhanced market surveillance, effective regulatory enforcement, and timely investor alerts,” Mr. Asadej stated.

The project also aims to expand knowledge of corporate governance and deepen stakeholders’ understanding of capital market mechanisms. Regular evaluations of supervisory measures will ensure they align with market conditions, he added.

The exchange intends to offer tailored solutions by segment and broaden its product offerings to meet diverse portfolio management and investment needs. Trading hours for products linked to international markets will also be extended, supported by strategic outreach to foreign institutional investors, particularly in China, Australia, and the Middle East.

“Our goal is to elevate the Thai stock market to a regional hub, establishing it as a premier listing destination for the tourism, food, and healthcare sectors,” Mr. Asadej remarked.

The Bond Connect platform aims to encourage public participation in government bond investments by providing an accessible and efficient platform for secure, long-term financial instruments. It allows investors to engage in primary market subscriptions, akin to the initial public offering process, as well as secondary market trading.

“This infrastructure also enables investors to use their bond holdings as collateral for other investments,” he explained.

Core infrastructure improvements will include the introduction of a clearing and settlement system (SET Clear) set to launch in 2027, alongside expanded IT services to enhance system capabilities in line with the capital market’s growth and participants’ needs.

“Improving communication through timely content delivery and user-friendly materials across new media channels will be a priority,” he continued. “Fraud and scam awareness programs will be emphasized to help protect investors from investment-related deceptions.”

The financial learning sphere aims to promote financial and investment literacy among young investors, professionals, educators, and influencers, while fostering corporate excellence and sustainable growth through the SET Learn Scape platform—a personalized learning solution focused on workforce development through skill training.
