Chinese YouTuber Allegedly Assaulted by Compatriots in Pattaya Mugging Setup

PATTAYA – A 37-year-old Chinese national claiming to be a YouTuber was discovered injured and dazed on the roadside in Bang Lamung district during the early hours of Saturday, after what police believe was a setup mugging by two fellow Chinese men.

What Happened?

  • The victim, Li Hailong, was found at 5:10am on Soi Thep Prasit 6/1, showing clear signs of assault — a bloody lip, bruised eye, and multiple body scratches.
  • Li told police he had met the two assailants at a local entertainment venue, where they invited him to join them in their car.
  • He was reportedly lured into a dark alley, where he was beaten before his mobile phone was stolen.

Bystander Intervention

  • A local woman, identified only as Buayen, found him while riding her motorbike and called for help.
  • Police quickly arrived and transported Li to a hospital while launching an investigation to locate the suspects.
