Cristiano Ronaldo Jr Earns First Portugal U-15 Call-Up

LISBON — Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, the 14-year-old son of football legend Cristiano Ronaldo, has been called up to represent Portugal’s Under-15 national team for the first time.

The announcement came ahead of a youth international tournament in Croatia from May 13–18, where Portugal will face Japan, Greece, and England. Ronaldo Jr, currently part of the Al-Nassr youth setup in Saudi Arabia, joins the squad as he follows in his father’s illustrious footsteps.

Proud father Cristiano Ronaldo Sr, 40, posted a picture of the squad list on social media, writing: “Proud of you, son.”

Ronaldo Jr’s footballing journey has mirrored his father’s international career, having already trained with youth academies at Real Madrid, Juventus, Manchester United, and now Al-Nassr. Notably, during his time at Juventus, reports claimed he scored 58 goals in one season.

The teenager has become an internet sensation with clips of him emulating his father’s signature ‘Siu’ celebration, and has also played alongside Kai Rooney, son of Wayne Rooney, during his time at Manchester United’s youth setup.

While he’s now wearing Portugal’s colors, Ronaldo Jr is also eligible to represent the United States, where he was born, and potentially Spain, due to his years living there while his father played for Real Madrid.
