Thailand is preparing to resume Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations with the European Union (EU) after they were halted in 2014 due to a coup. The talks are expected to be completed by 2025, according to Commerce Minister Phumtham Wechayachai.
Representatives from 24 European-based companies, including Airbus, Standard Chartered, Michelin, DHL, and Prudential Financial, attended discussions on the matter.
The agreement aims to address issues such as market access, intellectual property rights, and digital trade, with sustainability being a central focus. European businesses are hopeful for swift results from the negotiations. Thailand considers the EU as its fourth largest trading partner.
