Governor Chadchart gave his performance 5 out of 10 rating

After finishing his first year in office, Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt gave his performance a five-out-of-ten rating. Chadchart, who won the election by a landslide on May 22 of last year, was criticized for his lack of accomplishments, but he insisted that it was just a question of opinion.

In a statement made yesterday at City Hall, Chadchart acknowledged that he had been unable to carry out 11 initiatives and had to put other projects on hold because they were judged impracticable. Plans to set up community mobile libraries and breastfeeding facilities are among the projects that have been put on hold. Among the unfulfilled policies were those related to traffic and urban economic management.

The governor of Bangkok recognized problems that had developed between his group and City Hall representatives. We may have been going a little too swiftly in the eyes of the authorities. More technology will be implemented to address these problems, removing obstacles to communication between officials and facilitating public services.
