‘MAGIC 2025’ Initiative Aims to Attract 2.3 Million Indian Tourists to Thailand

BANGKOK, April 13, 2025 — The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in collaboration with Zebra Events & Exhibition Pvt. Ltd., is hosting “MAGIC 2025”, a large-scale incentive program aimed at boosting Indian tourism. The event runs from April 11–15 at IMPACT Arena, Nonthaburi, and welcomes 10,000 Indian direct marketing sales reps.

Key Objectives:

  • Promote Thailand as a premium MICE destination (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions)
  • Train participants on tourism and lifestyle services
  • Encourage high-spending corporate travel from India
  • Strengthen Thailand’s position in the global corporate tourism sector

Indian Tourism Market Highlights:

  • 2.1 million Indian tourists visited Thailand in 2024 (record high)
  • 597,709 Indian tourists visited between Jan 1 – Apr 9, 2025
    • 75.2% were independent travelers
    • 24.8% traveled in groups
    • 66.6% were first-time visitors

Popular Destinations:

  • Bangkok, Chonburi, Phuket, Krabi, Surat Thani
  • Catered segments: families, millennials, weddings, golf, wellness, senior citizens, women travelers, and adventure seekers

Strategic Boosts:

  • 60-day visa exemption for Indian citizens since July 15, 2024
  • Targeting 2.3 million Indian tourists in 2025
  • Expected revenue: 101.6 billion baht (~$3 billion USD)

Songkran Participation:

Participants are also joining the Maha Songkran World Water Festival 2025, aligning with the “Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025” campaign.
