Minor Food Group Plc opened its first Riverside Grilled Fish & Mala restaurant in the center of Bangkok on the 7th, inspired by the recent growth in popularity of Chinese food.
The company’s chief executive, Thunyachate Ekvetchavit, declared a budget allocation of 10–12 million baht for the opening of the renowned dining establishment’s first branch. The restaurant will be situated on CentralWorld’s sixth floor. said Thunyachate
“The Thai market for Chinese food is growing favorably and luring a wider variety of customers. The opening of Riverside Grilled Fish & Mala, a restaurant renowned for its Chongqing-Sichuan cuisine, is another step in diversifying Minor Food’s portfolio and positioning the company for positive growth this year. Riverside Grilled Fish & Mala offers a wide selection of real Sichuan cuisine and aims to draw a diverse clientele, including residents and visitors from abroad who have a lot of disposable income.
The restaurant makes an effort to accommodate different gourmet interests with everything from appetizers to main courses, sides, and decadent desserts. This extended dining experience is geared toward young professionals, those just starting their careers, families, and group outings and is situated in a distinctively modern Chinese setting. Thailand is the third nation to welcome a Riverside Grilled Fish & Mala franchise for the brand after prosperous endeavors in China and Singapore.
The restaurant brand was created in partnership between Minority Group and a Chinese partner, and operations there began in 2012. In 2017, Minority Group fully acquired the brand.
Riverside Grilled Fish, which has over 140 locations in China and five in Singapore, shares the spotlight with other business brands including The Pizza business, The Coffee Club, and Swensen’s ice cream in contributing to Minor Food’s expanding revenues. said Thunyachate
“Minor has never before introduced a Chinese restaurant. Although running a Chinese restaurant demands a high level of ability, there are opportunities in this industry because it has a distinctive offering and a compelling concept.
Thailand’s booming Chinese restaurant business, which has seen a considerable increase in the number of independent and chain Chinese restaurants opening in recent years, is estimated to be worth 5–6 billion baht. The company intends to open a second Riverside Grilled Fish & Mala location at Central Plaza Rama 9 at the end of the month in order to take advantage of this growing market.
In the next three to four years, Minor Food plans to run 10 locations of their distinctive restaurant across the country, according to Thunyachate. The company is starting feasibility studies at the same time for the possibility of opening other Riverside Grilled Fish & Mala locations in other ASEAN nations.
