Pattaya Man Found Dead Under Bed, Gold Necklace Missing

PATTAYA – A shocking discovery was made in Pattaya today, April 2, when a 30-year-old man, identified as Nai, was found dead under a bed in his apartment. His gold necklace, valued at approximately 250,000 baht, was missing, prompting suspicion of foul play.

Sakesan, the owner of a local bar, discovered Nai’s lifeless body in his room on the second floor of a four-storey apartment in Soi Kor Phai 4/5 in Bang Lamung District. Upon finding the body, Sakesan immediately contacted the Mueang Pattaya Police Station for an investigation.

Body Found with Injuries

Police reported that Nai was found lying naked, face down, with his upper body partially under the bed. His mouth was stuffed with a blue towel, and he had suffered a deep wound to his stomach, approximately 4-5 centimeters deep. The weapon used to inflict the injury has not yet been identified.

The officers also noted that Nai’s body had likely been deceased for at least three days before it was discovered, as it showed signs of swelling and emitted a strong, unpleasant odor.

Suspicious Circumstances

Investigators discovered several items in the room, including a dish, a box of food, a plastic bag of soup, and condiments, suggesting Nai had been preparing to eat before his death. Additionally, his mobile phone was still charging, and a fake gun, two pieces of luggage, and a cardboard box were found at the scene.

Background of the Victim

Sakesan revealed that Nai was a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and had a long-distance relationship with a German boyfriend who financially supported him. Nai was a regular at Sakesan’s bar, and the two were in contact until March 29, when Nai had been drinking at the bar before taking a motorcycle taxi back to his apartment.

After multiple attempts to reach Nai through calls and messages went unanswered, Sakesan, along with friends, went to check on him. Upon arriving at the apartment, they noticed the foul odor and used a spare key to enter the room, where they made the grim discovery.

Missing Necklace Raises Suspicion

Sakesan reported that Nai always wore a gold necklace worth nearly 250,000 baht, but it was missing from the scene. This has raised suspicion that the death may be connected to robbery.

The authorities have initiated an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death, and the investigation into the suspicious circumstances surrounding Nai’s death is ongoing.
