Suvarnabhumi Airport has improved its ranking, while Singapore’s Changi Airport has regained its position as the world’s best according to the latest Skytrax survey.
In this year’s survey, the Thai airport ranked 39th, moving up 19 places from the previous year.
Changi Airport surpassed Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar, which held the top spot last year.
The international air transport rating agency invites travelers from around the globe to vote for their favorite airports annually.
On Friday, Suvarnabhumi Airport expressed gratitude to passengers for their votes and affirmed its commitment to ongoing improvements. “We remain dedicated to enhancing our service standards to achieve world-class airport status,” the airport stated.
The Transport Ministry has set a goal to elevate the country’s main airport into the top 20 by 2029. This year, Suvarnabhumi anticipates nearly 65 million passengers, an increase from 60 million in the previous year.
Airports in Asia dominated the top 10 this year, with Tokyo’s Haneda at 3rd, South Korea’s Incheon at 4th, Japan’s Narita at 5th, and Hong Kong at 6th.
Haneda was recognized for having the cleanest facilities, while Changi was noted for having the best restrooms.
