The Thai electric car market is still expanding rapidly and has attracted foreign investors who are looking at Thailand as a prospective location for a manufacturing facility. To boost Thailand’s electric car industry, the Board of Investment (BOI) keeps holding roadshows.
The registration of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) has significantly increased, according to the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI). There were 33,365 BEV registrations in the first five months of 2023, which is approximately five times more than during the same time previous year. Foreign investors now have more faith in Thailand’s ability to serve as a production base thanks to the growth of the domestic market, supportive government policies like tax and non-tax incentives, and roadshows by the BOI abroad. Entrepreneurs interested in the electric car industry have responded favorably to the BOI’s roadshows, including recent ones that took place in Germany and France on June 18–23.
