The AX Media team were on the last ever Thai Smile flight out of Suvarnabhumi to Khon Kaen last night

Thai Smile Bangkok One

THAI Smile Airways is a Thai regional airline and a wholly owned subsidiary of Thai Airways International headquartered in Bangkok which started in 2011. They have 8 aircrafts which shall move over fleet to Thai Airways with immediate effect.

The final flight, an Airbus A320-200, had full occupancy with many of the passengers on both the outbound and return flight back into Bangkok.

Khon Kaen is one of 10 domestic destinations that Thai Smile was flying to out of Suvarnabhumi airport.

Although the Thai Smile brand is no more , the staff will all be moved into roles in Thai Airways with immediate effect, ensuring a smooth transition.

One notable passenger on the flight was Thai Airways Chairman, Piyasvasti Amranand, who was there to give the airline its final send off with Captain Anon in charge of the flight. We caught up with Khun Piyasvasti in Khon Kaen and he was excited to let us know about the purchase of the new 777-9 which will be available from the beginning of 2030.
