22-Wheeled Truck Collides with 16 Vehicles

A 22-wheeled truck crashed into 16 other vehicles on Kanchanaphisek Road (Bangkok’s southern ring road) in the Phra Pradaeng district on Sunday evening.

Rescue workers were alerted to the accident on the Bang Phli-Suksawat section of the outer ring road in tambon Bang Yaphraek around 5 PM on Sunday.

The road was closed for approximately an hour as rescue teams transported the injured to nearby hospitals, and police worked to clear the damaged vehicles to restore traffic flow.

The incident resulted in several kilometers of traffic congestion towards the Pak Nam and Bang Na areas. The road was partially reopened around 6:30 PM on Sunday.

Prasert Ketbung, 51, whose vehicle was among those damaged, reported that traffic had been slowing down when suddenly the large truck collided with several cars, pickup trucks, and a gas truck.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
