Forest Fires in Nakhon Nayok are Pushed Back by Helicopters

Forest fires that rekindled on Khao Tabaek in Nakhon Nayok, just one kilometer from Khao Yai National Park, are being fought by firefighters.

The wildfire that broke out on March 29 was close to where the fire started, on the left side of the Chulachomklao Royal Military Academy’s shooting range.

To stop the fire from reaching the Khao Yai world heritage site, firefighters are constructing a firebreak.

A helicopter was sent by the Royal Thai Army to fly over the region and evaluate the situation. In the meantime, 15 soldiers and 25 firefighters are moving into the area on foot to start fighting the fire.
