Qatar Airways is set to unveil its highly anticipated new Qsuite business class next week, choosing the Farnborough International Air Show as the stage for the reveal of the next-generation suite.
The Qsuite will be showcased in the airline’s Discover Lounge from July 22-26, leading up to its introduction on the first Boeing 777-9 jetliner from the Gulf carrier in 2025.
This unveiling marks the debut of ‘Qsuite 2.0,’ seven years after the original Qsuite’s introduction in 2017, which redefined business class standards and introduced the concept of sliding doors for transforming seats into private suites.
Qatar Airways CEO Badr Mohammed Al Meer expresses confidence that the launch of their latest business class offering will captivate the global aviation community.
Although specifics about the new Qsuite were not disclosed by Al Meer, the airline’s former CEO, Akbar Al Baker, previously mentioned to Executive Traveller that it would revolutionize the business class travel experience.
Al Baker highlighted the significant improvement of the upcoming Qsuite version, considering the popularity and recognition the existing Qsuite has garnered, driving Qatar Airways to continuously enhance the product in response to a competitive industry environment.
Initial reports on Qsuite 2.0, which began its conceptual design phase in 2021, hinted at a shift towards lighter materials and structure to enhance aircraft fuel efficiency, potentially including modifications to the walls and door height, increased storage options, and additional legroom for passengers.
The bespoke Qsuite 2.0 is expected to feature advanced amenities like USB-C and wireless device charging, as well as Bluetooth audio streaming from the in-suite 4K video screen to the traveler’s personal headphones or earbuds.
However, the new Qsuite will enter a market with significantly more competition than its predecessor, with Emirates introducing next-generation products on the A350 and 777 aircraft featuring privacy doors. Additionally, Cathay Pacific’s Aria Suites and Lufthansa’s Allegris business class are also in the pipeline, while Singapore Airlines is rumored to be developing new doored business class suites.
In a strategic move, Al Meer announced that Qatar Airways will reintroduce first class with a collection of enhanced suites that promise a private jet-like flying experience.
