Unlicensed Doctor Busted in Samut Prakan Clinic Raid

Authorities in Samut Prakan raided Phrom Rak Medical Clinic in Phra Samut Chedi, uncovering unqualified individuals administering medical treatments. The operation, conducted at 3 PM on February 21, was prompted by reports from concerned locals.

Leading the raid was Nuttanaporn Wongboonkeokul, a 32-year-old pharmacist and head of the consumer protection and pharmaceutical health group in Samut Prakan, alongside Police Lieutenant Colonel Prayoon Pattanuli and other officials. Upon entering the three-story commercial building in Nai Khlong Bang Pla Kot subdistrict, officers apprehended 56-year-old Korakot, 52-year-old Anucha, and 54-year-old Kwanchit.

The investigation began after complaints surfaced that the medical practitioner on duty did not match the name listed in the consultation room. Undercover officers confirmed these suspicions, leading to the raid. At the time of the arrest, a female patient had just received an injection and medication from the unlicensed individual.

One regular patient, shocked by the revelation, admitted she had trusted the clinic due to its convenient location near her home.

Criminal Charges and Legal Violations

  • Korakot faces charges for practicing medicine without a license, unauthorized sale of modern medicine, and document forgery.
  • Kwanchit was linked to an illegal money-lending operation, charging interest rates above the legal limit. Authorities seized loan agreements as evidence.
  • Anucha, the clinic owner, was charged for failing to ensure that licensed medical professionals were present during all operating hours, as mandated by ministry regulations.

The investigation remains ongoing, with further legal actions anticipated against those involved.
