Thailand Braces for Storms Across 40 Provinces

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has issued a weather alert for today, March 12, warning that heavy rain and strong winds will impact 40 provinces across the country. Bangkok is among the affected areas, and residents are urged to exercise caution.

Storms and High Waves Expected in Southern Thailand

The southern region is expected to face rough sea conditions, with waves reaching over 2 meters in areas experiencing thunderstorms. Mariners are advised to remain vigilant and avoid sailing in stormy conditions.

Over the next 24 hours, upper Thailand will experience hot weather, accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds. This is due to the influence of southwesterly and southeasterly winds affecting the lower north, central, and northeastern regions. Meanwhile, the easterly and southeasterly winds over the Gulf of Thailand, the south, and the Andaman Sea are weakening, leading to scattered thunderstorms in the southern provinces.

Air Quality and Dust Levels

Dust and haze levels remain moderate to high in the northern parts of the country due to weak to moderate winds, affecting air quality in those areas.
