MYSTERY BOOM ROCKS SMALL NEW JERSEY TOWN 💥🌌
In the quiet town of Magnolia, New Jersey, residents were jolted awake around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday by a mysterious loud boom and a bright flash of light. The event has left the community buzzing — and wondering what exactly happened.
When Sebastian Leonardo, owner of S & L Automotive, arrived at his shop later that morning, he discovered a large hole in the roof and extensive damage inside. His surveillance footage captured the dramatic moment something fiery came crashing through the ceiling.
“You eventually see a giant fireball come through the ceiling, and everything comes flying down — the roof with it,” Leonardo said.
Further investigation revealed a deep dent in a thick steel gauge box, marking the point of impact. Leonardo reviewed his security footage, which showed a flash of light outside followed by the impact inside the building.
Homeowners’ doorbell cameras across Magnolia also picked up the flash and explosive sound. Local resident Denise Korejko described it as enough to wake her up in shock.
“It was really, really loud. The sky, the big bright light, and the big bang — it was big,” she said.
While speculation ranges from meteorite to mystery object, Derrick Pitts, chief astronomer at The Franklin Institute, weighed in:
“There’s a bright flash. There’s a boom. There’s a hole. That’s three out of four things. If we had one more piece — like an identifiable object — we might say it’s something from space.”
S & L Automotive continued repairs Friday and plans to sift through the debris this weekend — still shaken but intrigued by the event.
“This is really a once-in-a-lifetime thing, I imagine,” Leonardo said.
