BANGKOK – April 16, 2025 — The 2025 Songkran Festival officially wrapped up in Bangkok, with over 725,000 Thai and foreign tourists flocking to major celebration zones, including Khao San Road (459,737 visitors) and Silom Road (265,667 visitors) over the multi-day holiday.

Mr. Narong Ruangsri, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), praised the coordination between agencies at the Songkran Emergency Operations Center (EOC) for ensuring safety and order throughout the festivities.

Key post-event efforts are now underway:

  • Review of lessons learned to enhance management for 2026

Songkran celebrations continue in a few areas like Icon Siam, RCA, and Siam Paragon, though water fights have ended citywide.

Accident Report (April 11–15, 2025):

  • 16 accidents reported
  • 15 fatalities (13 men, 2 women)
  • 4 injuries

Officials emphasized the importance of documenting both challenges and successful strategies to improve next year’s event planning and safety protocols.
