Air India Bangkok one

Air India, one of India’s leading global airlines, has announced plans to connect Delhi with Phuket, a popular island destination in Thailand, starting from December 15, 2023. The non-stop service aims to meet the demand for convenient air travel between the two cities, catering to both tourism and trade. The introduction of this route will also contribute to Air India’s expansion plans in the Far East and Southeast Asia.

The flights will be operated using an A320neo aircraft with a seating capacity of 162 passengers, including 150 economy seats and 12 business class seats. The outbound flight, AI 378, will depart from Delhi at 0110 hrs and arrive in Phuket the same day at 0710 hrs local time. The return flight, AI 379, will depart Phuket at 0810 hrs and land in Delhi at 1050 hrs local time.

Initially, the service will operate four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. However, beginning in January 2024, it will be enhanced to a daily operation.

Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial & Transformation Officer of Air India, expressed excitement about the new connection to Phuket, recognizing its popularity as a global destination for both business and tourism. The airline aims to expand connectivity and increase frequency on domestic and international routes to provide customers with more travel options. This move is expected to contribute to the growth of the aviation sector.

Currently, Air India operates a total of 26 flights per week to Bangkok, including daily non-stop flights from Delhi and Mumbai, as well as six flights per week from Kolkata. Additionally, Air India passengers can easily access connections via Bangkok to 10 popular destinations in Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia through their interline partnership with Bangkok Airways.
