Airport Fees Set to Increase by 50%Airport Fees Set to Increase by 50%

Airports of Thailand (AOT) will increase the international passenger service charge from 730 baht to 1,120 baht starting June 20 across six major airports in Thailand.

The revised departure fee will apply to international travellers departing from Suvarnabhumi Airport, Don Mueang International Airport, Chiang Mai International Airport, Mae Fah Luang Chiang Rai International Airport, Phuket International Airport and Hat Yai International Airport.

According to AOT president Paweena Jariyathitipong, the additional revenue will support ongoing airport development projects, including terminal expansions, the implementation of automated Common Use Passenger Processing Systems (CUPPS), and upgrades to airport safety technology.

She added that the increase is not expected to significantly impact travel demand, noting that Thailand’s updated passenger service charge remains competitive compared with regional hubs such as Singapore, where international passengers currently pay around 1,600 baht.
