Airports of Thailand back on profit

AOT Bangkok one

Airports of Thailand Plc (AoT) reported a net profit of 8.79 billion baht in fiscal year 2023, a significant improvement compared to the 11.09 billion baht net loss in fiscal year 2022. The CEO of AoT, Kirati Kitmanawat, stated that all six airports operated by the company showed better performance as the post-Covid situation improved and the aviation and tourism sectors began to recover.

The six airports served 639,891 flights in fiscal year 2023, up 62.22% year-on-year, and handled 100.06 million passengers, a 114.31% increase. AoT expects to reach passenger numbers close to pre-Covid levels in 2024. AoT is also investing in airport development, including opening a third runway at Suvarnabhumi airport next year and planning a 96 billion baht investment in airport development from 2024 to 2029.
