Anutin Charnvirakul voiced confidence that his party will gain a majority of seats in the House.

Anutin, the outgoing government’s minister of public health, told reporters that he trusted his own research and analysis and did not believe the findings of other polls.

Anutin spoke one day after the National Institute of Development Administration’s Nida Poll released the findings of its second election 2023 poll, which was conducted from April 3 to 7.

Only 2.55% of the nation’s 2,000 respondents, according to the findings, preferred Anutin to be the next prime minister. In the constituency election, only 3.75% of respondents said they would support Bhumjaithai’s candidates, and 3% said they would support him in the party-list contest.

The 3% figure, according to Anutin, is too low for his party.

“If our party’s popularity rating is indeed below 3%, we would only receive 12 MPs in the future election. Do you anticipate Bhumjaithai receiving only 12 MPs? Anutin enquired.

He further stated that if the poll showed that his party would only win 12 House seats, he would accept responsibility for the disappointing results by resigning as leader and leaving politics.

Because he predicted his party would win 51 MPs in the 2019 election instead of 52 seats, Anutin claimed he trusted his own judgment.

“I believe in myself,” Anutin stated.

Anutin grinned and remained silent when asked if he thought Bhumjaithai will win House seats by a wide margin.

He immediately informed the reporter that his lack of speaking signified “Yes”.

We are afraid that saying how many seats we would win out loud would be seen as disrespecting the people, according to Anutin.

He claimed that the popularity of his party had not been impacted by Chuwit Kamolvisit’s campaigning, on the contrary, it appeared to be increasing.Former legislator and massage parlor operator Chuwit criticized Bhumjaithai’s decision to decriminalize marijuana. Additionally, he claimed that the party’s transport minister, Saksayam Chidchob, was involved in fraud in some transportation projects.

“Most constituencies are now even more favorable toward our candidates. After the attacks, we are anticipating more House seats than we had first anticipated, according to Anutin.
