Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has stated that the government has not issued any ban on private celebrations or entertainment events following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother.
While such events are not prohibited, organizers are advised to adjust their tone to align with the period of mourning. Mr. Anutin called on the entertainment sector to responsibly moderate or modify their festivities accordingly.
“There is no ban on concerts or social gatherings,” Mr. Anutin assured the press at Government House. “This has been clarified by the prime minister’s secretary-general, Traisuree Taisaranakul,” he added.
Regarding traditional ceremonies like weddings, Mr. Anutin confirmed they can proceed as usual. Sale of alcohol and operating hours for venues will remain unchanged, though he urged business owners to avoid excessive revelry during this period.
