Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul engaged in bilateral discussions with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to reinforce Thailand–Australia relations and foster cooperation in trade, investment, and strategic development.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Anutin expressed gratitude for Albanese’s congratulatory message upon his assuming office and highlighted the longstanding, positive relationship between the two countries. He also extended an invitation to Prime Minister Albanese for an official visit to Thailand at a convenient time for both leaders.

Prime Minister Albanese extended his condolences on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother and congratulated Anutin on his appointment. He also praised the recent signing of a joint statement between Thailand and Cambodia, noting that it would promote regional peace and stability.

Both leaders agreed to work towards advancing the Thailand–Australia Strategic Partnership and to accelerate the development of the new Joint Plan of Action (2026–2029) to deepen their cooperation. They also committed to enhancing trade and investment by leveraging free trade agreements such as TAFTA and RCEP, while expanding collaboration in areas like biological sciences, food security, renewable and clean energy, as well as education and tourism exchanges.
