The Asia-Pacific aviation services market is forecast to reach US$138.7 billion by 2044, expanding at a compound annual growth rate of 5.2%, according to Airbus’s latest Global Services Forecast.

Growth is being driven by rising air travel demand and rapid fleet expansion. Passenger volumes in the region are expected to grow by 4.4% annually—well above the global average—while Asia-Pacific will require 19,560 new commercial aircraft over the next 20 years, accounting for nearly half of global demand.

Maintenance Operations Support is projected to be the largest service segment, reaching US$46.4 billion by 2044, followed by Ground Operations at US$31 billion. Airlines are also increasing investment in aircraft modifications and upgrades, digital and connectivity solutions, and training, reflecting the growing complexity of operations and customer expectations.

Digital services, including AI and data analytics, are being adopted to support predictive maintenance, operational efficiency and automation, while competency-based training is expanding to meet workforce needs.

By 2044, the region will require more than 1.06 million new aviation professionals, including pilots, technicians and cabin crew.

Airbus said Asia-Pacific—led by South Asia and China—will remain the world’s fastest-growing air travel market and is set to shape the next phase of global aviation services growth, influencing investment, capabilities and industry priorities worldwide.
