Authorities Conduct Raid on Well-Known Nightspot in Bangchan Area for Operating Without Permit and Exceeding Operating Hours

The police raided a nightclub in the Bangchan area for operating beyond permitted hours without a license. The establishment had been converted from a restaurant and was found to predominantly cater to Myanmar tourists. Upon inspection, it was discovered that 16 individuals, including 6 who were under 20 years old, were detained. News reports indicated that the raid took place late at night on April 27th, around 2:45 AM, with the Special Operations 191 Unit and Bangchan Police leading the operation. The complaints stemmed from concerns of underage individuals, mostly Myanmar nationals, being allowed into the premises of the unlicensed establishment. During the inspection, it was revealed that the venue, initially registered as a restaurant, was operating as a nightclub with a DJ entertaining customers. Notably, there was no official owner or manager present, only Myanmar patrons, including the DJ. When asked for documentation, it was found that 16 individuals lacked travel documents, with 6 of them being minors under 20 years old and 10 others being Myanmar tourists over 20 years old. They faced allegations of "entering and residing in the kingdom without permission." The 16 Myanmar tourists were taken into custody and transferred to Bangchan Police for further legal procedures. In terms of the establishment, investigations unveiled that it had been functioning as an entertainment venue, permitting underage individuals to enter, which disrupted public order and morality. As no owner or manager was identified, authorities seized commercial registration documents, lease agreements, and other pertinent documents for legal action to either suspend the license or order the closure of the establishment to prevent future unauthorized operations.
