Bangchak Shows Strong Interest in Pet Care

Bangchak Corporation Plc, a prominent energy conglomerate, is broadening its business portfolio by venturing into the pet care sector to tap into the growing trend of pet ownership. In a strategic move, Bangchak plans to introduce pet shops within its petrol stations, capitalizing on the rising number of younger customers who own multiple pets.

Teaming up with music industry operator RS Group, Bangchak is set to collaboratively establish “Pet All My Love” retail outlets. Chaiwat Kovavisarach, the company’s CEO and president, expressed the firm’s interest in the pet business, attributing it to the increasing pet ownership among younger demographics.

Bangchak’s initial endeavor will involve launching its premier pet shop in Bangkok, with ambitions to scale up to 20 branches located at Bangchak petrol stations. A budget of approximately 100-200 million baht has been earmarked for this initiative, with a strong focus on catering to pet enthusiasts who consider their furry companions as integral family members.

The pet shops are envisioned to provide a wide array of pet care products, pharmacy services for pets, and even a clinic. This strategic expansion into the pet care domain is in alignment with Bangchak’s overarching strategy to transform its petrol stations into hubs that showcase a diverse range of non-oil products and services, such as Intanin coffee outlets, convenience stores, food and beverage options, car maintenance services, and electric vehicle charging stations.

Bangchak aims to bolster its national presence by increasing the number of petrol stations to 2,500 by 2030, up from the current count of 2,200 outlets. The collaboration with RS Group, which forged its path into the pet industry amidst the pandemic-induced surge in pet companionship, symbolizes Bangchak’s commitment to catering to a broad customer base across different age groups under the overarching theme of “Your Greenovative Destination for Intergeneration.”

Furthermore, Bangchak’s environmental consciousness is underscored by its development of diesel fuels that adhere to Euro 5 emission standards and the reduction of sulphur levels in gasoline, aimed at promoting cleaner fuels that contribute to a reduction in pollution levels. In line with its diversification efforts, Bangchak recently unveiled its inaugural lifestyle mall, “Chlorophyll@Hua Hin” in Prachuap Khiri Khan, focusing on culinary offerings, beverages, and electric vehicle charging amenities.
