Late Monday night, emergency responders rushed to a bizarre accident scene in Bangkok—a city bus left hanging meters above the road, its front end tangled in overhead cables.
The drama unfolded near Mahai Sawan intersection around 11:45 PM when a No.167 bus skidded off the road after crossing Bangkok Bridge. The driver’s side mirror somehow got caught in the cables, yanking the front of the bus into the air while the rear stayed on the ground.
Inside were the driver, a conductor, and three passengers—all shaken but thankfully unhurt.
The driver, 34-year-old Apinya, explained that she was heading toward Chom Thong Road when she suddenly lost control. Fighting to avoid hitting other cars, she tried to steer left, but the next thing she knew, her mirror had hooked onto the cables, leaving the bus suspended.
After getting out, she noticed a suspicious liquid stain on the road—possibly a mix of water and engine oil—suggesting the road might have been slippery.
Since it was the last No.167 bus of the night, the incident didn’t cause much traffic trouble. But photos and videos quickly went viral, with netizens in disbelief over the sight of a floating bus.
Rescue crews used a crane to free the vehicle and bring it safely back down. Miraculously, there was no major damage—just one crazy story to tell.
