Bangkok to host the sustainability expo in 2023

The Sustainability Expo 2023 (SX 2023), the largest event of its kind in the ASEAN region, is scheduled to be held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) in the Khlong Toei district of Bangkok from September 29 to October 8.

Tongjai Thanachanan, the SX director, announced to the media on Tuesday that the annual event, now in its fourth year, will focus on the philosophy of “Good Balance, Better World.” The expo will showcase sustainability trends and innovations while also honoring His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua, who supports and extends royal projects for the benefit and happiness of the people. The event’s theme is “Sufficiency for Sustainability,” in line with the sufficiency economy philosophy initiated by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great (Rama IX). SX 2023 is being hosted by Thai Beverage, in collaboration with four partners: Frasers Property, PTT Global Chemical, Siam Cement Group (SCG), and Thai Union Group.

More than 100 organizations, 250 guest speakers, and 500 regional and global sustainable business networks have been invited to participate. Approximately 320,000 attendees are expected to visit the event over the course of its 10 days. SX 2023 will feature five zones:

  1. “SEP Inspiration” to share ideas related to the sufficiency economy philosophy.
  2. “Better Me” to help people learn how to coexist happily with individuals from different generations.
  3. “Better Living” to promote activities or projects by leading companies that focus on a clean environment and the circular economy.
  4. “Better Community” to promote equality.
  5. “Better World” to showcase arts related to sustainability.
