BMA Cracks Down on Street Vendors Around Khao San Road
BANGKOK, April 13, 2025 – The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), led by Permanent Secretary Wantanee Wattana, has implemented stricter street vendor regulations along Khao San Road, Rambuttri, and Kraisi Roads to ease traffic and enhance public safety during Songkran festivities.
Key Measures:
- Vendors must remain within designated stall boundaries
- Setup on narrow roads is strictly prohibited
- Crackdown on unauthorized and illegal trading
The action follows a high-level meeting with the National Police Commissioner at Chanasongkram Police Station’s security and traffic operations center. A subsequent inspection was carried out on Ratchadamnoen Klang Road to ensure compliance.
Wantanee emphasized that strict enforcement is essential to ensure public convenience and safety during the high-traffic Songkran period.
