Emirates and flydubai currently provide 11 daily flights to Thailand.
Flydubai has quadrupled its flying capacity to Thailand, but not on any additional routes. Krabi and Pattaya (U-Tapao) have both upgraded to twice daily service. Although flydubai briefly served Krabi via Myanmar in 2019/2020, they officially began in January 2023. The operator of the Boeing 737 must undoubtedly be content with the forward bookings and have a great deal of confidence in the future success of both markets.

Thai holiday destinations Krabi and Pattaya are both places I’ve gone. The 320,000 travelers from Europe and the Middle East who visited Krabi in 2019 inspired flydubai and Emirates to launch the destination. Although Qatar Airways did so from Doha in 2018, flydubai is the sole airline that flies between the Middle East and Pattaya.The following itinerary, with all times local, is for travel to both locations in mid-October, as reported by Aeroroutes and verified on the airline’s website and in Cirium/OAG.

Both routes now have a “split schedule.” In order to maximize connection over Dubai, flights leave the UAE either early in the morning or in the middle of the morning, depending on the day. Now, every departure is strengthened to daily.

Both routes began operating in January, as was previously announced. As a result, there is not much information available, and what is has a newness bias.In February, flydubai had 9,296 roundtrip tickets available on both routes. Booking information indicates that it transported around 7,300 passengers to/from Krabi (79% seat fill ratio) and 8,300 to/from Pattaya (90%).
Compared to travel, P2P
While nearly half (46%) of travelers from Pattaya did not transit, about 30% of passengers from Krabi were point-to-point (they solely traveled to/from Dubai).
With the exception of those who traveled by land from Bangkok, Pattaya saw almost no passengers in February 2019 compared to the Dubai-Krabi P2P market, which had a few hundred. Due to constant service, albeit from very low bases, both have unavoidably experienced significant increases.Clearly, the transit market was essential, particularly for Krabi. Around 70% of travelers from Krabi transited through Dubai with flydubai and Emirates (Romania was the most popular market), and 54% traveled to/from Pattaya (Russia was the most popular market).daily departures of 11

Can Dubai deliver to Chiang Mai? It does not have a flight to the Middle East (or elsewhere), but Qatar Airways provided service from Doha utilizing the 787-8, A330-200, and, yes, the A319 (through Myanmar) between 2017 and 2020. If flydubai’s premium tickets can constantly be occupied, it looks like a no-brainer of a destination.
