Buriram Tragedy: Domestic Dispute Over Alleged Infidelity Ends in Fatal Stabbing and Suicide Attempt
BURIRAM – April 7, 2025 — A heartbreaking domestic incident in Pakham district of Buriram province has left a woman dead and her husband in critical condition following an argument that escalated into fatal violence and a suicide attempt.
The tragedy began when 44-year-old Wichan, a hotel technician based in Pattaya, allegedly stabbed his wife, 37-year-old Bee (name withheld for privacy), during a heated confrontation over suspected infidelity. The couple had returned to Buriram for a family visit, accompanied by their 18-year-old daughter.
Scene of the Incident
Police were called to a roadside location near Baan Maidaeng Huakrasang Road, where they discovered Bee’s lifeless body beside a damaged yellow Mitsubishi with Rayong license plates. She had sustained three stab wounds to the chest. A nearby concrete utility pole had also been struck, indicating a possible vehicular collision before the attack.
Sequence of Events
According to the daughter, the family was en route to her grandmother’s home for breakfast when her parents began arguing over her mother’s alleged contact with another man. The father had apparently confronted her on previous occasions and was suspicious of her behavior.
Tensions escalated until, upon reaching a temple, Wichan forced his daughter out of the car and drove off with Bee. Not long after, Bee was found dead by the roadside.
Hours later, authorities were alerted to a suicide attempt in Ban Khok Charoen, where Wichan was found with self-inflicted injuries. He was rushed to Pakham Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Daughter Speaks Out
In a deeply emotional statement, the couple’s daughter said she is willing to forgive her father, despite the devastating loss of her mother. She acknowledged the pain and confusion of the situation but emphasized that he remains her parent.
