Cathay is gearing up for the launch of its brand-new 777 business class by mid-year, which will be known as the Aria Suites and will be installed on both the current Boeing 777-300ER and the upcoming 777-9 aircraft.
The Aria Suites essentially represent a fresh take on Cathay Pacific’s longstanding business class, which first debuted in 2010 and underwent improvements in 2016. It’s almost as if this new business class has been designed from a blank slate, reflecting what designers would envision in 2024.
With the Aria Suites, Cathay Pacific retains elements that its business class passengers appreciate, such as the angled window-facing layout that provides a sense of spaciousness compared to traditional forward-facing seats, while enhancing other aspects.
Here are the key highlights of what travelers can look forward to in the new Cathay Pacific Aria Suites:
- Sliding door: Each passenger will enjoy enhanced privacy in their own private suite, complete with a sliding door that brings Cathay in line with its major competitors and offers extended privacy even when the door is open.
- Middle seat privacy panel: For added privacy, there is now a divider between middle seats to cater to individual or companion travelers.
- Larger screen with Bluetooth audio: A significant upgrade includes a 24-inch 4K resolution screen fixed into each Aria Suite, along with Bluetooth audio streaming capabilities for personalized entertainment.
- Wireless charging: In addition to power outlets, wireless charging pads allow convenient device charging during the flight.
- Increased storage: Additional storage options include concealed drawers and cabinets to accommodate personal items.
- Free WiFi: Business class passengers, as well as Cathay Platinum frequent flyers in premium economy or economy, will benefit from complimentary unlimited WiFi.
- Aesthetic enhancements: The Aria Suites feature a warmer and more inviting design with elegant curves and woodgrain-like surfaces, creating a luxurious aesthetic.
- Art gallery in the sky: Each 777 aircraft will showcase unique artworks, curated by Cathay Pacific in collaboration with artists connected to Hong Kong, offering passengers a diverse range of perspectives on nature.
These enhancements are part of Cathay’s broader 2024 business class experience overhaul, which includes a refreshed cabin design and a modern approach to inflight dining with ‘Hong Kong Flavours’ cuisine concept.
