Chinese Man Detained at Suvarnabhumi Airport for Alleged Murder and Mutilation of Transwoman in Pattaya
UPDATE .A Chinese man has been detained at Suvarnabhumi Airport on suspicion of murdering and mutilating a 24-year-old transwoman in Pattaya, authorities confirmed on Saturday.
The suspect, identified as 41-year-old Fu Tongyung, was intercepted by airport security as he attempted to flee the country. His arrest follows the discovery of the victim’s mutilated body in the bathroom of a guesthouse room on Soi Arunotai 2.
The guesthouse owner found the body after noticing a trail of blood leading to the room. The victim, whose name has been withheld, had suffered partial genital mutilation. Inside the room, investigators also found a large bag containing clothes, scissors, and other equipment.
Police were alerted to the scene around 10:00 AM on Saturday. Witnesses reported hearing a violent argument between Fu and another person between 1:00 AM and 2:30 AM, just hours before the grim discovery.
Fu had reportedly been staying at the guesthouse for about a week prior to the incident. Authorities have detained him for questioning as forensic investigations continue.
Officials have stated that Fu will remain in custody while more evidence is gathered to clarify the circumstances of the crime.
