Coca-Cola Subsidiary Expresses Confidence in Next Year's Outlook

Coca-Cola (Thailand) is optimistic about the prospects for the country’s beverage industry in the coming year, aided in part by the resurgence of tourism.

The government forecasts that Thailand will welcome 40 million foreign visitors in 2025, exceeding pre-pandemic levels, as reported by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

Richa Singh, senior director of franchise operations for Coca-Cola Thailand and Laos, noted that the growth in the beverage market this year indicates a positive outlook for the industry in 2025.

From January to October 2024, the non-alcoholic drinks market in Thailand saw a year-on-year growth of 7.4%, while the carbonated soft drinks segment grew by 8.7%.

According to data from analytics firm Nielsen, the Thai non-alcohol ready-to-drink market was valued at 221 billion baht in 2023 and reached 198 billion baht from January to October 2024.

Coca-Cola’s operations in Thailand—including ThaiNamthip Corporation Limited, HaadThip plc, and Coca-Cola (Thailand)—plan to broaden their beverage portfolio by introducing alcoholic ready-to-drink options with the launch of Schweppes Mixed, a new line of pre-mixed alcoholic cocktails.

This new range features two products: Schweppes Mixed Vodka Citrus and Schweppes Mixed Vodka Golden Lemon.

Ms. Singh stated that the company sees significant potential in the Thai beverage market, which ranks among the highest globally for per capita alcohol consumption.

The new products are now available in hypermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants, and hotels, with the company aiming to target consumers aged 20 to 49.

However, Ms. Singh did not provide specific statistics on alcohol consumption per capita in Thailand or any sales targets for the new product line.
