CP Chief Dhanin Heads Thailand's Wealth Rankings with $15 Billion

Dhanin Chearavanont, the senior chairman of the Charoen Pokphand (CP) Group, ranks as Thailand’s wealthiest individual on Forbes magazine’s World’s Billionaires 2025 list, boasting a net worth of $15.2 billion.

He stands at 141st among 3,028 billionaires globally. The United States leads the list with a record 902 billionaires, followed by China (516, including Hong Kong) and India (205). Thailand has 25 billionaires represented in this ranking.

According to Forbes, there are 15 individuals worldwide with net worths of at least $100 billion each.

In Thailand, Mr. Dhanin, who is 85 years old, is succeeded by Sarath Ratanavadi, CEO of Gulf Development Plc, whose net worth is $12.9 billion, placing him 184th globally. Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi, chairman of Thai Beverage Plc, ranks third among Thailand’s wealthy with a net worth of $11.7 billion, taking the 210th spot worldwide.

Former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra is the 15th richest person in Thailand and ranks 1,688th globally with a net worth of $2.1 billion.

On the global stage, Elon Musk, co-founder of Tesla and currently involved in cost-cutting for Donald Trump, leads the rankings with a staggering net worth of $342 billion. Following him are Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook with $216 billion and Jeff Bezos of Amazon with $215 billion.
