A Thai diner was left shocked after an online food order went terribly wrong when a restaurant mistakenly served him a blended green curry with chicken instead of his ordered avocado smoothie.
On Tuesday, Facebook user Thitiwat Koosakul shared his distressing experience, posting a photo of the faulty drink along with a detailed account of what transpired.
He explained that he had ordered a simple meal of grilled chicken, boiled egg, rice, and his usual avocado smoothie—something he described as a “small happiness.” However, the drink that arrived had an unusual color. Thinking it might be a different variety of avocado, he took a sip, only to be hit by the salty, spicy, and pungent taste of green curry.
“I almost vomited,” he wrote. “There were bones in it. I had to spit it out immediately. My colleague tried it too and did the same. Neither of us could understand what it was.”
Mr. Thitiwat said he tried contacting the restaurant multiple times but received no response. Ultimately, he went to the shop in person. Instead of an apology, he claimed the staff dismissed the incident, blaming it on a mix-up.
“They told me someone else had left it near the avocado smoothies and that I was given the wrong one,” he recounted. “I wasn’t seeking compensation, just a sincere apology and acknowledgment of the mistake to prevent it from happening again. Instead, I got excuses and denial.”
He described the ordeal as the worst experience he’s had in four years of regularly ordering food online. His post quickly went viral, sparking widespread discussion on social media.
While most comments shaded the restaurant for their poor handling, some users brought up a different concern. One suggested that such dismissive behavior from staff could be a sign of health issues like a stroke, prompting broader conversations about health awareness and customer service standards.
