DNA from two deceased children matches Songsak and his ex-partner as parents

DNA from two deceased children matches Songsak and his ex-partner as parents

According to Pol Maj-Gen Noppasilp Poonsawat, deputy commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, who is in charge of the investigation into a string of child murders, analysis of DNA from two children, whose remains were dumped on waste land in Bang Sue district in 2013 and 2014, respectively, revealed a parental match to murder suspect Songsak and his former partner Jesada.

According to him, one of the two victims suffered from a fractured skull and brain hemorrhage, while the other was discovered to have died from suffocation. He added that the findings of DNA testing on two bone pieces that were discovered this week on a piece of property in Phahonyothin Soi 56 are still unknown.

In the meantime, Songsak and Jesada have been soliciting donations from the public since July to raise money to care for a 4-year-old girl born to Sunan, Songsak’s current partner, who is blind. Police are also looking into whether the murder suspect is to blame for the child’s blindness.

Sangworn, a relative of the girl, and Kan Chom Phalang, who had previously reported Songsak’s alleged mistreatment of children, went to the Bang Khen police station today (Friday) to meet with Pol Maj-Gen Noppasilp.

According to Sangworn, who claims to be the girl’s uncle, Songsak and Sunan raised the girl until she was two years old, at which point they took her back. He said the infant was healthy and showed no symptoms of deformities or blindness while in their custody.

According to the police, 3,558 baht in public donations have been moved to Songsak and his ex-girlfriend Jesada’s bank accounts. Since 2013, four of their five children have passed away; it is thought that Songsak killed them and then dumped their bodies on a waste site in the Bang Sue district.

According to authorities, Songsak is currently charged with assault resulting in death and deleting evidence (obstruction), and when more evidence becomes available, murder charges will be brought against him.
