An IrAero Antonov An-26 twin-engine turboprop aircraft’s cargo hatch opened immediately after takeoff, giving the passengers quite the scare.
As the airplane climbed out of Magan Airport (GYG), which is close to Yakutsk, the coldest city in the world, one of the passengers on the flight who was situated in the back of the aircraft took video of the rear aircraft door opening wide.
The clip showed the 25 passengers’ baggage and other belongings being swept out of the aircraft cabin as it depressurized. The AN-26 was ascending out of GYG airport toward Magadan on January 9, 2023, when the horrible tragedy took place (UHMT). The aircraft had a flight height of many kilometers when the door to the aircraft opened.
Life.ru reported that the 43-year-old RA-26174 was the aircraft that was involved in the mishap.
