Emirates will relaunch service to Shanghai and Beijing.

Emirates, a carrier based in the UAE, has announced an increase in operations to China ahead of the New Lunar Year, enhancing connectivity to its gateways in Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Beijing.

Emirates’ market operations will increase to 21 weekly flights as a result of the expanded services.

Beginning on January 20, 2023, Emirates will reinstate passenger service to Shanghai with two flights per week flown by an Airbus A380 aircraft. EK302 will leave Dubai for Shanghai and go nonstop to Shanghai, while EK303 will return from Shanghai to Dubai after a brief stopover in Bangkok.

According to Emirates, starting on February 2, 2023, there will be four weekly flights from Dubai to Shanghai using a three-class Boeing 777-300ER. EK302 will leave Dubai at 3.45am and arrive in Shanghai at 3.40pm at that time. The return flight, EK303, leaves Shanghai at 5.40 p.m. and arrives in Bangkok at 9.45 p.m. From Bangkok, it departs at 11.20 p.m. and lands in Dubai at 3.20 a.m. the following day.

Then, starting on March 1, 2023, Emirates will add daily nonstop service to its Dubai-Shanghai route. Aboard EK304, which will leave Dubai at 9.15 am and land in Shanghai at 9.05 pm. The EK303 return flight will depart Shanghai at 11 p.m. and land in Dubai at 5:20 a.m. the following day.

An airplane with three classes, the Boeing 777-300ER, will fly the Beijing service. Starting on March 15, 2023, EK308/EK307 will make a daily nonstop flight from Dubai to Beijing, the capital of China. The outbound flight, EK308, will depart Dubai at 10:50 am and land in Beijing at 10:20 pm; the return flight, EK307, will depart Beijing at 12:40 am and land in Dubai at 5 am.

Emriates will expand the number of flights on this sector in addition to restarting services to Shanghai and Beijing. Emirates now offers a nonstop service four times per week between Dubai and Guangzhou (EK362), as well as a service from Guangzhou to Dubai via Bangkok (EK363).

With EK362/EK363 operating as daily nonstop service with the A380 beginning on February 1, 2023, it will expand services between Dubai and Guangzhou. From Dubai, EK362 will depart at 10.45 am and land in Guangzhou at 9.45 pm. The EK363 return flight will leave Guangzhou at 12.15 a.m. and land in Dubai at 5.15 a.m.

For its A380s and B777 aircraft, Emirates is now engaged in a significant refit effort. The first of 67 A380 aircraft designated for the program has had its refit finished. All 67 A380s are expected to be finished by 2024, at which point the airline will focus on its B777 fleet.
