For a new jet purchase by the end of 2023 Flydubai is in discussions with Airbus and Boeing.

By the end of 2023, or perhaps even in time for the November Dubai Airshow, flydubai aims to have an agreement for new aircraft signed.

The airline is reportedly in talks with Airbus and Boeing, the two biggest producers of aircraft.

The airline is interested in both the Airbus A320neo and the Boeing 737 MAX models, despite the fact that its fleet is now entirely made up of Boeing aircraft. At the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai on May 1, 2023, flydubai’s CEO, Ghaith Al Ghaith, provided information regarding the potential acquisition of new jets.

Hopefully by the Dubai Airshow, Al Ghaith said, “We are working very closely to try and sign some deals.” “At the end of the day, the market for aircraft production is so competitive, it’s currently a seller’s market […] By the end of the year, ideally before the air show, I would love to take action.

Al Ghaith voiced concern about the “threats” that could materialize as a result of expanding the fleet, including the cost of jet fuel and significant manufacturing backlogs. We have a strong pipeline of incoming airplanes, but in our area of work, we don’t just stop there. Instead, Al Ghaith explained, “We have to buy aircraft at the right time to get the best price possible.”

Flydubai also unveiled at the Arabian Travel Market its plans for brand-new business class suites on several of its aircraft.

Onboard single-aisle Boeing 737s, the new suites are intended to offer the same levels of comfort as those available on wide-body aircraft.
