For the purported murder of a Chinese businessman in Trang, 3 people were detained in Satun.

Two men and a teenage girl have been detained by police in the southern Thai province of Satun in relation to the death of a Chinese businessman at a resort in the province of Trang.

A Honda Accord sedan and other things, including 11 bank books, five ATM cards, one credit card, two passports, three cell phones, and 11,700 baht in cash, which were allegedly taken from the victim, were also recovered by police.

According to reports, the 40-year-old businessman, whose passports listed him as Li Zhri Rui, controlled several para wood processing facilities in southern regions. He was discovered dead and stabbed multiple times yesterday (Tuesday) in a hotel restroom in Trang.

One of the suspects, 22-year-old Natdanai, reportedly told police he received a phone call from his 17-year-old girlfriend, who is also a suspect, asking for assistance after the businessman allegedly refused to pay her for a sex service she gave and physically abused her.

Natdanai allegedly said that they came up with a plan to exact revenge on the businessman, with the adolescent girl leaving the resort room’s window open so that he could sneak in and stab the man with a pocket knife.

The group escaped the fatal assault in the victim’s Honda Accord from Trang to their homes in the La-ngu region of Satun province.
